TorSentinel

How it works

Three products, three problems. For each one: what goes wrong without it, what it does, the three steps to get going, and the free tool that shows it is working.

Stealth VPN

The problem

Hotel Wi-Fi, campus and office networks, and some countries block VPN protocols. The filter sees a VPN handshake and drops it, so an ordinary VPN never connects.

What it does

Stealth VPN makes your connection look like ordinary HTTPS on port 443, with a valid public certificate, so there is nothing for a filter to fingerprint. It tries UDP first and falls back to TCP on its own. Your whole device goes through the tunnel, DNS included, and IPv6 is blocked so it cannot leak around it. Its app is the StealthLink app, for Windows, macOS, Linux and Android; iPhone and iPad are coming soon.

Three steps

  1. Start free, or buy. Free access needs only an email address, and is limited to 5 Mbps, sessions of 30 minutes, then reconnect, and 2 hours a day. Full access is $7.99 a month, or $71.88 a year ($5.99 a month), for up to 5 devices.
  2. Get the app. Download the StealthLink app from the Stealth VPN page. For free access, enter your email and the code we send. For full access, sign in with the VPN username and password from your dashboard.
  3. Connect. Leave the location on Automatic for the fastest of the 8 locations, or pick one. The app shows Connected when the tunnel is up.

Check it

Run the free IP leak test and DNS leak test while connected. Both should show the location you chose, and no IPv6 address.

Armor

The problem

Every peer in a torrent swarm can see your IP address, and so can anyone watching the swarm. Most VPNs hide it but block incoming connections, so you reach fewer peers and seed slowly, which hurts your ratio on private trackers.

What it does

Armor is a WireGuard VPN with a forwarded port at every location, static per location, so peers can reach you and seeding stays fast. It also includes a SOCKS5 proxy for just your torrent client, if you would rather leave the rest of your computer on your normal connection. Monitor is included, watching up to 8 torrent clients. P2P is allowed at all 8 locations and there is no speed cap.

Three steps

  1. Buy Armor. $9.99 a month, or $95.88 a year ($7.99 a month), with a 7-day money-back guarantee on card payments.
  2. Get the app or config. Install the Armor app for Windows, macOS or Linux, or download the WireGuard config from your dashboard for any WireGuard client, router or Docker stack. For the proxy, run Armor Proxy Auto-Setup on Windows or copy the SOCKS5 details into your client.
  3. Connect and set your port. Connect to a location, then put that location's forwarded port into your torrent client's listening port setting. The numbers are listed in your dashboard.

Check it

The free torrent IP check shows the IP your client announces; it should be the VPN or proxy address, not your home one. The port checker confirms your forwarded port is open.

Monitor

The problem

VPNs drop, proxies time out, and an update can reset your client's settings. When that happens, your client quietly announces your home IP to every tracker and peer, and nothing tells you.

What it does

Monitor gives you a small private tracking torrent to add to each client. Every time the client announces, we see the IP it used and compare it with your safelist of VPN and proxy addresses. If it is not on the list, you get an email or Telegram alert within seconds of that announce. Most clients announce every few minutes, and you can lower the interval. Monitor watches up to 5 clients on its own, or 8 as part of Armor.

Three steps

  1. Buy Monitor. $4.99 a month, or $47.88 a year ($3.99 a month). If you have Armor, it is already included.
  2. Add the tracking torrent. Download it from your dashboard and add it to each torrent client you want to watch. There is no software to install.
  3. Set your safelist and alerts. Add the IPs or networks your VPN or proxy uses, then choose email or Telegram. Everything else counts as a leak.

Check it

Your dashboard shows the last IP each client announced and whether it is safe. For a one-off check without an account, use the free torrent IP check.
